Miss Nadja Naomi Bos (Naomi), 1st year student from department of Communication Arts, Rangsit International College

“I usually use my computer or the I-pad given by the university to study. For applications it depends on the teacher sometimes its zoom and sometimes it is webex. This is only my second day studying online with Rangsit Univeristy, and so far, there aren’t any problems. It is easy to communicate with the teachers and classmates. The only thing I would say is difficult, is that maybe its sometimes hard to hear someone speak. I live in Bangkok so I do not have trouble with time zones. Normally if I have morning classes, I would set up an alarm at least 2 hours before so I can wake up and prepare myself, so that I wont feel sleepy during the lecture. As for tips to concentrate better for online studies. I think the best thing you can do is to set yourself in a quiet room with no distractions. That way it is easier for you to focus without any interruptions. Studying online can be fun sometimes but personally, I like the idea of going out to the university and being able to communicate face to face.

Nina Natalie Fors (Nina), 1st year student from department of Communication Arts, Rangsit International College

“I’m using Line, Google Classroom, Google Meet, RSU Cyber and Cisco Webex because they are the ajaans prefered channel of communication. For the first meeting with the student union and student orientation we also used Zoom. But when taking notes by myself I use iPad and Apple pencil with GoodNotes and Macbook Pro with Google Drive but also take traditional notes by hand on paper. The biggest problem for me when studying online in Thailand is time difference. Thailand is 5 hours ahead of Sweden and I have morning classes at 9 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, which means they start at 4 a.m. in Sweden. Thankfully, this week is the last week at my workplace so after that I am free to attend all classes at any given time. I want to be a good student and wake up in time to attend all live classes even though they are very early for me. Right now, I do not see the time difference as a problem but more of an opportunity for me to wake up early and attend classes and then study hard and do what I want for the rest of the day.

Kazuma Noguchi (Kazu), 1st year student from department of International Business, Rangsit International College

“I’m using zoom and webex. For me, the weak internet connection is problem and I do not understand the app’s operation very well. I think the best way to solve problem when studying online is to give students an assignment or send up a video of the class content is better. My tips to have more concentrate to study is eliminate your desk from your phone, comics, and other things you don’t need for studying. These things can be distracting when they are in view, so it’s important to make sure that the environment is designed just for studying It is. What I feel about the online classes was that it was good to be able to take classes in any location. However, there are some bad points that make it difficult for students to interact with each other.
